Celestial engraving can be built from constellations, compass points, fine orbital lines and small scattered stars, composed individually around the shape of the ring. Details can be sparse and quiet, or carried further around the band to create a more intricate night sky.
A particular constellation, place, date or direction can become part of the design, and small stones may also be incorporated as points of light.
No two need follow quite the same path. The design shown here is just a starting point.

A small stone can be set into the engraving as a quiet point of colour or significance.
Sapphire is a particularly good match for this pattern, as it has a long association with heaven and celestial blue.
